The Wedding Beauty Countdown
Thursday 23rd November 2017
It's all things Bridal Beauty in the salon this week, as my big brother proposed to his girlfriend of 5 years at the weekend!
So, being the dutiful little sister that I am (and might I add a Bridesmaid to be!) I've been thinking about the Wedding Beauty Countdown.
What to do, when to do it, how long before for maximum effect, what matters, what doesn't...this is Heavenly Green's Bridal Beauty Bible!
6 Months Before
Establish a good skincare regime.
Quality skincare is the foundation of all things beauty, and a solid regime is critical to achieving that dewy glowing skin on the day.
Get into the habit of having a monthly facial, your skin will thank you for it and it does wonders for stress relief too!
If you are unsure about your skin type or how to best look after it, your therapist will be able to offer expert advice and guide you in the right direction.
3 Months Before
Get into the habit of hair removal
Stubbly legs just won't cut it on the big day, so take action now stop shaving and start to wax. Waxing reduces hair growth over time, leaves legs silky soft for longer and helps to exfoliate the skin too. Hair cycles can take a while to get into sync with each other, so by starting to wax regularly now you will be in good form when the wedding comes.
Vamp up your skincare routine with the addition of supplements
The beauty of skin supplements is that they treat your skin from within, and results can be seen all over. Introducing a product like "Skinade" can help hydrate your skin, plump out fine lines and wrinkles and even tackle stubborn cellulite (which is a skin condition that affects BOTH skinny and curvy ladies).
CACI and Environ offer a wonderful range of body treatments which work on sculpting, toning and reducing cellulite on certain areas including legs, thighs, buttocks, arms and stomach to help achieve the perfect silhouette under the dress!
1 Month Before
Hand and Feet Maintenance
Get a pedicure and a manicure a few weeks before the big day to test out colours and to keep your hands and feet in tip top condition. Whilst gel polish is usually favoured amongst brides as its instantly dry and lasts longer, some people prefer normal polish so it's whatever suits you.
Top up your tan
If you've never had a fake tan before, it's always a good idea to have a trial tan before the wedding to get an idea of colour and longevity. No one wants to be an orange or ghostly bride so it's about finding balance.
1 Week Before
All About The Eyes
Getting your eyebrows professionally shaped and tinted can dramatically change your face and frame your eyes beautifully. Consider an eyelash treatment such as tinting or LVL lashes which lifts, lengths and volumises your eyelashes which is perfect for the wedding and will last throughout the honeymoon.
Have a last minute wax
Get a Facial
A facial a few days before the wedding will not only make your skin glow, but it will serve as some vital chill out time too!
Top up your tan
A fake tan should be done at least 2 days before to allow for the excess to be washed off and for the true colour to develop.
Manicure and Pedicure
Nails should be the last thing to have done, to reduce the risk of chipping.
